Lake View Woman’s Club Donates Flags, Sponsors Book Signing

For nearly 80 years the Lake View Woman’s Club has been involved in their community working to improve the lives of its citizens.
Most recently, to honor the veterans of Lake View, the club donated 36 American flags to the town.  Karen Cook, club president, presented the flags to Mayor Boston Page for display around town.
Earlier this month, the LV Woman’s Club sponsored a book signing at the Lake View Library. Karen Cook, former owner of The Gator Restaurant, has published a cookbook titled Karen’s Casual Cooking and was on hand to sign her book.
Each year the club sponsors two delegates to Palmetto Girls State, the Senior English Award at Lake View High School, supports the Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, holds an Easter party for the residents of the Thorne Home, and decorates the Lake View Library for Christmas.
