Dorothy Louise McLellan Murray, age 77, of Laurinburg passed away at her home on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
Dorothy was a daughter of the late Henslee C. and Bessie Thompson McLellan born April 23, 1939 in Dillon County, South Carolina. She retired from the United States Postal Service after 38 years of service as a mail carrier. She served as a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing cards. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by Bill McLellan, Gordon “Rock” McLellan, Dick McLellan, and Barbara Jean McLellan.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 56 years, John L. Murray of the home in Laurinburg; her children, John L. Murray, Jr., of Morven and Laura L. Murray of Laurinburg; sisters, Arch Ann Blanchard (Charlie) of Raleigh, Ann Collie (Nick) of Laurinburg; her grandchildren, Lacey Murray and Ashlyn Murray and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park.
