Books Get Vote At Stewart Heights Elementary

CELEBRATION OF READING—In November, the Stewart Heights library was the scene of a celebration of  reading.  The theme was “Books Get our Vote”. The school library was decorated in red, white and blue to tie into the national election.  Mrs. Wooten, teacher-librarian, was dressed as Uncle Sam.  After students voted for their favorite book character, they moved to tables which were full of colorful story books.  Children took their time looking at each book and then chose one special book to take home and keep forever.  The books were provided by the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) book program.  Community volunteers were Suzanne McLaurin and Rebecca Moody.
