The applicant (Veteran-Per U.S. Code, Title 38, Part 1, Chpt. 1, Section 101) must have served on Active Duty, for the time period specified, in any branch of the U.S. Military Armed Forces to include “Federally Activated” National Guard and Reserve Members. Discharge must have been under conditions OTHER than dishonorable. Active duty service must be able to be verified. Submit a copy of a discharge or other official documents with application.
1. Name submitted must be a living Veteran of Dillon County, SC.
2. Official documentation (i.e. Honorable discharge) required for proof of service.
3. Nominee will be selected by the past Dillon County Veterans of the Year and will
be announced at our annual Veterans Day Ceremony November 11, 2015.
4. Attach your (legible) response on a separate sheet of paper to this application stating why this Veteran should be selected as Veteran of the Year for 2015 and describe His/Her contributions / service to the Dillon County Veterans community.
5. Discharge “MUST NOT BE Under Other Than Honorable Conditions.”
