Time:  7:00 p.m.
Place:  Lake View  Council Chambers
Present:  Boston Page, Jr., Mayor, Council Members Layton Townsend, Mertis Barnett, David Johnson, Matthew Elvington
Also Present:  Sara Elvington, Tabitha James, Martha Isabelle, Frankie James, Samantha Strickland, Glenda, and Jamie Legette.

Mayor Page called the meeting to order welcomed everyone and Mr. Layton Townsend opened with prayer. Minutes from July meeting were read, Councilman Johnson made a motion and Mrs. Barnette seconded, with a unanimous vote to accept as read.
3) Samantha Strickland with RALI-Dillon County was next on the Agenda.
Ms. Samantha explained the program to Mayor and Council, also looking for some land in town for the community garden as well as people to work the garden. She said the organization would also help individuals plant a garden on their property.
4) Glenda Schleich with Pee Dee Coalition was invited to speak next, she wants to put a banner up about domestic violence for the month of October and in April put up one on sexual assault.
She is interested in several sites for the banner but will also need someone to put the banner up for her to take it down. Mayor and council approved the banner:  she will need to check with DOT about putting it  across the highway.
5) Reports given on the Success of HERE For You with Tabitha James, there were over 100 visitors by 10:00, she gave the breakdown of how many had come, race, color, gender, etc. She referenced they may be back next year due to the success.
6) The Mobile home situation was revisited as we do have 2 mobile home parks in town.
7) AT&T phone service problems were revisited and are being looked into at this time.
8) Martha Isabella said she would bring more info as she receives it about equipment for Hill Top Park at Shady Circle area.
9) COTB planning committee met with council. Mrs. Johnnie Leuhrs said she would be glad to help with them with their projects and getting organized. They decided to hold another meeting for August 25th to work out more details. Frankie James, Tabitha James, Chandra Cook, Jennifer Ward, Martha Isabelle, Mertis Barnette, Deborah Johnson, Josephine Gilchrist and Noie Evans are willing to work on the committee. All COTB letters were typed up for the new committee to send out. Leuhrs reminded Mayor, Council and visitors of Farm City Week, lighting of the Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 27th at 4:00 p.m., Fall Festival November 19th @ 6:00 p.m. It will be a busy time form now till end of the year.
Mrs. Johnnie went over the Grand Opening for Market on Main, owner Matthew Elvington.
10) Mayor and council are still reviewing the information given on carpet for community center.
11) Water fountain has been installed at the Hill Top Park and Mrs. Martha Isabella is working on getting donations for equipment for the Hill Top Park area.
12) Mayor and council approved 1033 Gov. Program of surplus property, presented by Chief Campbell.
13) Council informed 2015-2016 Audit is underway and the SOVA audit went well.
No further business. The meeting was adjourned.
