Darius Leonard Named To STATS Offensive And Defensive Player Of The Year Watch List

NORFOLK, Va. – Preseason Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Year and Lake View, S.C., native Darius Leonard has been named to the STATS Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year Watch List.
Leonard was named to the 2015 All-MEAC First Team, as a linebacker.
A one-time MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, Leonard finished the season recording 70 total tackles, one forced fumble, one recovered fumble, two quarterback hurries, four passes deflected and two breakups.
He notched two interceptions, one for a touchdown, and 13.5 tackles for a loss.
He was second on the team in sacks (5) and interceptions.
Both the STATS FCS Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year Watch Lists can undergo revision during the 2016 season.
A national panel of over 150 sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries will vote on the winner following the regular season.
