Corn Variety Plot Tour To Be Held At Farm In Rowland

The 2016 Corn Variety Plot Tour will be held on Friday, August 5, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Wilton Shooter and Sons Farm, Rowland, in the field located on Highway 301, one mile north of the Highway 130 Intersection.
The tour will provide an opportunity to see side-by-side comparisons of 21 corn varieties in an on-farm corn variety evaluation test hosted by Wilton Shooter and Sons Farm.  Time will be provided to have an informal discussion on issues affecting crops in 2016.  Georgia Love, Regional Agronomist with North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, will provide recommendations on proper tissue sampling.

Directions: From I-95, take exit 2.  Turn on to Highway 130 towards Rowland.  Travel approximately 1 mile to the intersection of Highway 130 and 301; turn right.  Field is approximately 1 mile on the left.
