Mr. Moody, 64, passed away Sunday night, July 17, 2016 in Providence Medical Center, Columbia, SC.  Born in Dillon, SC, on April 10, 1952, he was the youngest son of the late Lupton Moody and Blanche Whittington M. Hubbard.
He is survived by his daughter, Wendy (Barry) Burton of Elgin, SC; son, John (Adrienne) Moody II of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Barbara) Moody of Columbia, SC and Lafon (Linda) Moody of Lexington, SC.  He was predeceased by his brother, Carlos Gene Moody.
John moved to Columbia in his late teens and remained the rest of his life.  During his younger, more active years, John enjoyed bowling and skating and had trophies to prove it.  Due to his genial nature and “never meeting a stranger” attitude, John was known and liked by many people.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, American Heart Association Building, Glen Allen, VA 23060, or a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank Palmetto Baptist Hospital, Palmetto Richland Hospital, Providence Medical Center, and Lexington Hospital for their care of John during his long illness.
