Dillon High School Band Banquet was held on Thursday, May 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Brandi’s Banquet Hall.
The Master of Ceremony for the program was Aaron Scott. The welcome and highlights from the year was by Jacobee Moore.
After the blessing by Rev. Anthony Alford everyone enjoyed a delicious meal. During the meal a slideshow of pictures was shown from the 2015-2016 year.
Mr. Adrian Wright, band director, presented awards to the following individuals: Marching Band: Most Outstanding Underclassmen – Ashanti Tyson, Most Outstanding Freshmen – Aziana Moultrie, Most Outstanding Sophmore – Makela Pompey, Most Outstanding Junior – Kobe Godbold, Most Outstanding Senior – Jacobee Moore, Most Outstanding Musician – Jamont McRae, Most Dedicated Male – Qua’Dragus Nelson, Most Dedicated Female – Tatyana Miles, Best Auxiliary – Joanie McRae, Most Improved Auxiliary – Shaniya Brown, Most Dedicated Auxiliary – Ny’Asia Coatney, Best Section – Saxophones, Most Improved Section – Clarinets, Most Improved Musician – George Lindsay, Best Marcher – Kezia Dentley, Best All-Around Male – Aaron Scott, Best All-Around Female – Ashanti Tyson, Most Spirited Male – Jacobee Moore, Most Spirited Female – Laterrin Page, Female Character Award – Joelisha Blue, Male Character Award – Jacobee Moore, Band Parent of the Year – Mrs. Lenette Alford, Most Dedicated Chaperone – Dr. Miranda Manning, and Most Dedicated Chaperone – Mrs. Brenda Swinney. Concert Band Awards: Most Dedicated Female – Laturean Brigman, Most Dedicated Male – Khristopher Long, Best All-Around Female – Kiara Edge, Best All-Around Male – Kobe Godbold, Most Improved Brass Musician – Quaneal Graham, Most Improved Woodwind – Shobria Sowells, Most Impoved Percussion – Qua’Dragus Nelson, Most Oustanding Percussion – T’Niya Williams, Most Outstanding Brass – Aziana Moultrie, Most Outstanding Woodwind – Alexia Green, Best Section – Euphonium and Most Improved Section – Flute. Mr. Wright also recognized the senior band members: Jamicia Alford, Jacobee Moore, Joanie McRae, Daijour Huggins-Samuel, and Aaron Scott.
Rev. Anthony Alford, president of the Band Booster Club, presented the following awards: Years of Service Award – Brenda Swinney, Outstanding Dedication Award – Katie Bellmon and Best All Around Booster Club Member – Alice Burns.
Mr. Wright thanked everyone for their hard work and dedication to the Marching Band and Concert Band. The benediction was by Rev. Anthony Alford.
