PHOTO GALLERY: Lady Wildcats Defeat Lee Central Stallions

The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated the Lee Central Stallions 17-1 in softball action played in Dillon on Wednesday, April 27, behind the pitching of Tori Grimsley.
Grimsley pitched the 4-inning game and allowed only 1 run of which was earned, 4 hits, walked no one, and struck out 8.
The Stallions Haley Ray pitched 3 and 1/3 innings and allowed 11 hits, 17 runs of which 11 were earned, walked 3, and struck out no one while her young team committed 8 errors.
Lee Central’s #9 Hollom doubled in the first inning.  #21 for the Stallions singled.  After one-half of the first inning Lee Central led 1-0.
However, the Lady Wildcats quickly picked up 11 runs in the first inning.
Dillon’s lead-off hitter, Auh’Kieria Smiling ended up on second after 2 errors by the Stallions when Smiling hit a hot grounder to second that was bobbled. A’Doshia Graves and Marissa Tyndall each walked. Tori Grimsley hit 1 to left for a double and 2 rbi.  Dillon now led the game 3 to 1. Ashley Phillips was hit by a pitch. Skylar McCoy hit a grand slam and Dillon’s lead was 7-1. Taylor Blackmon hit 1 to left for a double. Auh-Kieria Smiling hit a grounder to the Stallions’ shortstop who bobbled the ball and Blackmon scored from third as Dillon was in control at 8-1. Marissa Tyndal hit 1 to center and picked up a rbi. Brittany Miller hit a grounder to the shortstop and was safe at first.Tori Grimsley connected for a single to center and 2 rbi. Dillon’s lead was 11-1 after the first inning.
The Lady Wildcats added 1 run in the bottom of the third and 5 more runs in the bottom of the fourth before the game was called.
Tori Grimsley was perfect in her 3 at-bats with 2 doubles and 5 rbi while Sklylar McCoy was also perfect at the plate with 3 hits including ad grand slam and a double while picking up 4 rbi.
The Stallions’ Haley Ray picked up a rbi off of 1 hit in 2 at-bats.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats are 16-4 for the season while Lee Central ended the season 8-11.
Dillon hosted the winner of the Edisto-Academic Magnet on Friday or Saturday.
