Dillon Boys Defeat Loris Lions

The Dillon Wildcats boys defeated the Loris Lions 63-35 in basketball action Wednesday, February 3, in Loris.
In the first quarter, Dillon scored 11 points while holding Loris to only 2. The Wildcats added 20 in the second quarter while Loris added 10 to give Dillon a 31-12 halftime lead.
Loris made the game interesting while scoring 13 points in the third quarter to Dillon’s 14 points.
In the fourth quarter, the Wildcats tacked on 18 points to Loris’ 12 points.
RaHeem McClam and Khary White each scored 10 points for Dillon. Khary White, #11, had a total of 18 rebounds of which 12 were offensive; 5 steals, 2 blocked shots, and 5 assists. McClam had 7 rebounds of which 5 were offensive, 5 blocked shots, and 1 steal.
Ja’Quan Knowlin, #43, hit 4 of 6 field goal attempts and 1 of 2 free throws for 9 points and 2 defensive rebounds.
Dillon’s Jallian Williams made 4 of 6 field goal attempts for 8 points, had 2 defensive rebounds, 1 steal, and 3 assists.
Darrius Bethea added 5 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in Dillon’s victory. Shamar McCollum connected on both shot attempts and 1 of 2 free throws for 5 points plus 5 rebounds and 1 steal.
Darrius Boatwright and Carrian Wright each scored 4 points in the win. Boatwright also had 3 steals while Wright added 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
Keenan Norman and Javier Brookins each added 2 points in the victory.
Norman added 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 6 assists while Brookins had 3 rebounds, 1 blocked shot, and 1 steal.
Avery McCall, #12, had 4 rebounds and 1 deflection.
Rakeem Fletcher, #4, added 1 steal, 1 deflection, and 1 assist to help seal the win for Dillon.
La’Jarius Jacobs had 1 rebound and 1 steal for Dillon.
Loris’ Goodman led Loris in scoring with 6 points followed by Waters with 6. E. Hemingway had 5 points; Chapman, 5; Morgan, 3; R. Bellamy 3; K. Bellany, 3; Drayton, 2; and K. Hemingway, 2.

The Dillon Wildcats are in sole possession of first place in Region 8-2A with the 49 to 41 victory over Marion on Friday in Marion.  The Wildcats have two remaining games in the regular season.
The Wildcats found themselves in a tie at 18 at the half as each team scored 6 points in the first quarter and 12 points in the second quarter. Dillon pulled ahead in the third quarter by outscoring  Marion 13 to 4.  However, in the fourth quarter Marion outscored Dillon 19 to 16.
Keenan Norman scored a game-high 26 points to lead Dillon in the scoring column while adding 5 rebounds of which 3 were on defense, 1 steal , and 3 assists.
Rakeem Fletcher added 9 points while hitting on 4 of 4 shots from the field and 1 free throw, 1 steal,  and 2 assists. Ja’Quan Knowlin hit on 3 of 4 from the field and added 1 free throw to score 7 points and 1 steal. Jallian Williams added 4 points,  grabbed  6 rebounds of which 4 were on defense, 1 steal,  1 deflection,  and 3 assists. Darius Boatwright scored 2 points  and had 1 offensive rebound. Darius Bethea had 2 offensive rebounds and 1 steal in Dillon’s victory. Javier Brookins had 3 rebounds of which 2 were on offense and 1 steal while Khary  White added 4 defensive rebounds, 1 blocked shot, and 1 steal. RaHeem McClam grabbed 5 rebounds of which 3 were on offense and 2 blocks in the win.
