Eleanor “Ellie” Marlene Wagner Walsh

Eleanor “Ellie” Marlene Wagner Walsh died on Sunday, December 6th, 2015 following an extended illness. She was born October 1, 1935 in Minneola, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of Arthur William Wagner and Grace Veronica Nanry, formerly of Williston Park, Nassau County, New York, late of Poestenkill, Renssellaer County, New York.
Mrs. Walsh was a member of the first graduating class at Florence Darlington Technical College, Florence, South Carolina, with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She worked as a Dental Hygienist for Dr. Daniel Miller in Dillon, South Carolina prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Walsh was a member of Saint Louis Roman Catholic Church in Dillon County where she was actively involved in the Catholic Women’s Club, a past member of the St. Louis Parish Council, Boy Scouts Den Mother, Coordinator of the Religious Goods Gift Shop, and the St. Louis Senior’s Lunch Bunch Program.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walsh was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Robert “Bob” Wagner (Louise), of Poestenkill, Rensselaer County, New York. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Edward Joseph Walsh III of the home; sons, David A. Walsh (Georgette), Wallace, SC; Jeffrey E. Walsh (Kathryn), Mt. Pleasant, SC; Keith A. Walsh (Joy), Bristol, TN; James J. Walsh (Michelle), Bishopville, SC; E. J. Walsh (Kim), Dillon, SC and daughter, Catherine “Kitsy” Walsh Hunt (Dwayne) of Dillon, SC; eleven grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of her life and of her service to her family, church and community will be held Wednesday, December 9th, 2015, at 11:00 AM at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 610 Second Avenue, Dillon, Dillon County, South Carolina, Rev. Fr. Jesuprathap Narichetti, celebrant.
Visitation will be held one hour prior at 10:00 AM in the St. Louis Parish Life Center, 610 1⁄2 Second Avenue, Dillon County, South Carolina. Final commendation and interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Dillon County, South Carolina. Cooper Funeral Home, Dillon, SC will handle funeral arrangements.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Saint Louis Church Building Fund, c/o St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 207 East Roosevelt Street, Dillon, SC 29536 in memory of Eleanor Marlene Wagner Walsh.
