DHS Lady Cats Hope To Put Respectable Team On The Floor

Coach Shawn Johnson in his fifth year as the Dillon Lady Cats head basketball coach and his 14th year of coaching hopes to put a respectable team on the floor this coming season.
Coming off a 23-4 season last year and losing only five players, the prospects are bright that he will do just that.
He does have newcomers who will fill the void. “All of our newcomers will be vital and will see playing time (NyAsia Campbell, Kya Bell, Ja’Ronda McCrimmon, Ja’Neequah McCrimmon, Na’Kedra Page, and injured returnee Shimya Sowells),” said Johnson.
Key positions that he will have to fill are forwards and wings; however, he has an experienced guard and center.
“Our expectation is to be competitive and improve before the region and playoffs,” said Johnson. “Our toughest opponents are every region opponent.”
“ I just hope that we can get better every day and try to put a respectable team on the floor. We will put God ahead and work every day,” said Johnson.
