Dillon County 4-H Shooters Win Scholarships

On April 11, 2015, The South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation (SCYSF) held it’s state championship at the Clinton House Plantation in Clinton, SC.

Local teams attending were Dillon County 4-H and Dillon Christian School. Both teams had squads shooting in several different divisions from High School Seniors to 5th graders. There were over 500 youth competitors from all over the state of South Carolina. All high school seniors were entered to win one of eleven $1,000 scholarships.

Zachary Sisler and Ellison Rourke from Dillon Christian School were both winners of $1,000 scholarships.

Owen Hutchinson and Hannah Martin, now shooting with Dillon County 4-H and previously shooting with Pee Dee Academy, both won $1,000 scholarships
The Dillon Christian School was also awarded $2,600 from the Larry and Brenda Potterfield Foundation to help develop and support their team.

David Ryan Camp, winner of the Berretta A-300 shotgun, and his sister, Anna Camp, who drew the winning ticket.

David Ryan Camp of Dillon County 4-H was the lucky winner of a Beretta 300 shotgun which was donated by Ducks Unlimited.

Zack Arrington, Justin Herring, and Gately Bethea finished third in the Intermediate Advanced Division.

In the shooting competition, the Intermediate Advanced division squad of Justin Herring, Zack Arrington, and Gately Bethea came in third place. The Sr 1st year squad of Cole Anders, Walker Brumble, and Myers Hamer tied for third place. The Rookie squad of Jacob Edwards, Brenna Miller, and David Ryan Camp came in fourth place.

Edwards came in second overall with a score of 70, just one bird behind the HOA winner.
