Gilda Huggins, 86 years old, resident of Emeritus Assisted Living of Conway, SC passed away February 3, 2015.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born July 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Henry and Eva Tedder of Fairmont, NC. She was a resident of Dillon County since 1948, and she was the widow of late Robert L. Huggins. Gilda and her husband Robert were owners of Huggins Star Shoe Shop on Main Street for 15 years, she was co-owner of The Gilda Sue Shop on Hwy. 301 North, and she worked for Dillon County School System for many years and enjoyed working with the children and her peers at East Elementary School. Mrs. Huggins loved her family dearly, enjoyed spending time gardening and enjoyed her home, and s he was also a part-time associate at Walmart.
Survivors include her son, Ron E. Huggins and wife Nancy of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter Gail H. Jones and husband Richard L. of North Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Jessica G. Jones, Lee Jones, and Lindsay Huggins; great-granddaughter, Georgia S. Jones; and her sisters, Lucille Perry and Daphne Hawn.
Mrs. Huggins was preceded in death by her son, Robert L. (Bobby Lee) Huggins, Jr., brother, Horace C. Tedder, and a sister Shirley Stone.
