Frances Jackson Holder

Frances Jackson Holder, 92, passed away after a brief illness on January 28, 2015, as a hospice patient at McLeod Medical Center Dillon. Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Main Street United Methodist Church with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Church prior to the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
She was born January 14, 1923, in Marion, SC and was the daughter of the late Kay and Bessie Keith Jackson. She was married to the late Daniel Thomas Holder of Durham, NC, and was the co-owner and operator of Tommy’s Custom Frames of Dillon until retiring in 1990.
She was a graduate of Dillon High School and attended Kings Business College in Charlotte, NC. She worked several years as a switch-board operator for Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company in Dillon until they converted to a dial system. She worked for many years as an office assistant at both Roff Chiropractic Clinic and Stanton Chiropractic Clinic before establishing and operating a picture framing business with her husband and family in downtown Dillon.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John David Powers, of Florence. Survivors include daughter, Vivian Kay Summerlin (Mike) of Dillon; son, Daniel Thomas Holder, Jr., (Teresa) of Dillon; three grandchildren, Kelly Summerlin (Stephanie) of Williamston, SC, Patricia H. Ramage (Joseph) of Greenville, SC, Daniel Thomas Holder, III of Rock Hill, SC; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Summerlin and Rosalie Summerlin of Williamston, SC.
