Services for Lester Allen Cox will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bethesda Southern Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Cox, 73, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, December 4, 1940, he was the son of the late Gary Calhoun Cox and Eva Dell McLellan Cox.
Survivors include his sons, Lester Allen “Junior” Cox, Jr., Charles Albert “Shorty” Cox, Kevin Keith Cox, all of Oak Grove; daughters, Lynn Stanland of Florence, and Donna Vera of New York; brother, Charles Cox of Latta; sisters, Gladys Berry, Hazel Berry, both of Latta, Cathy Bracey of Dillon, and Shirley Shelley of Sellers; 10 grandchildren; 1 great- grandchild.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his son, Terry Clifton Cox; sisters, Evelina Britt, Eunice Gray, and Edna Earle Grice; brothers, James Cox, G.C. Cox, and Albert Wayne Cox.
