Sheriff Says ‘Dillon County’s Got Talent’

By Sheriff Major Hulon
If you missed the Dillon County’s Got Talent Show – you missed a nice evening out. After weeks of auditioning, it finally came down to (8) contestants who went on stage and sang with everything they had. The audience was in full participation and everyone had a ball. It was rewarding to laugh and engage with the community in a positive light. I really enjoyed the event and it was an honor to be the Master of Ceremony. I am giving great consideration to making this an annual event.
A lot of hard work went into making this event possible. Thank you Brenda Campbell, for bringing this event to life, Wayne Greene and his crew, for operating the sound and lighting, the volunteers for their time and commitment, and of course our many sponsors – we could not have done this without you.
We all thank the judges for the wonderful job they did. They expressed how great the talent is in Dillon County and how difficult the decisions were to make. However, the following (3) were chosen as the winners of Dillon County’s Got Talent.
1st place – The Dynamic Angels: Whitney, Rejoice, and Linzy Boatwright
2nd Place – Raymond Williams
3rd place – Chencilla (Chin) Applewhite
Congratulations to the winners and to everyone that auditioned. I sincerely hope that you will continue to believe in yourselves and follow your dreams.
Also, I would like to proudly announce that as a result of Dillon County’s Got Talent; Collin Hamilton was seen on social media and asked to audition at the Carolina Opry in Myrtle Beach, SC. How about that…you go Collin!
To be continued…..
