City Council Approves
Accommodation Tax
Recommendations
The Dillon City Council approved their Accommodations Tax Committee’s recommendations at their June meeting. The recommendations were: Pee Dee Tourism – $10,000; Dillon County Theatre – $10,000; City of Dillon Parks and Recreation – $10,000. The Chamber of Commerce gets a percentage.

Citizen Comments On
City Wrecker Rotation
Roger Church, who is on the City of Dillon wrecker rotation list, told the cit council that he had not received one wrecker call from the city in the 22 years he had been on the list. He said he called 9-1-1 and complained and got a call. He said one person gets all the calls.
Mayor Todd Davis said they wanted to make it as fair and equitable as possible. He was advised to inquire about this with the county council, who is in charge of 9-1-1 office.

On Vacant
Lots in City Limits
Citizen Willie Bethea spoke to the Dillon City Council about a concern that they are not addressing vacant dilapidated housing in city limits.
He said not one house had been demolished by the City of Dillon this year.
Code Enforcement Officer Benny Genwright said they were following rules and procedures.
Bethea said this was a problem for the city.
