Lady Warriors Fall 10-3 to Antioch Christian Lady Gators

The Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors hosted the Lady Gators of Antioch Christian Academy in Lumberton, North Carolina on Thursday in the final game before spring break.

The Gator batters could do no wrong and found a hole in the Warrior defense 13 times for hits to give them a 10-3 non-region win. The first inning ended with both sides stranding a runner at third but not bringing them in for a 0-0 finish.

At the end of two the score was even at 1-1. The Gators picked up two runs in the top of the third inning holding the Warriors to a single run to take a 3-2 lead. The Gators moved ahead 4-2 in the fourth inning and pulled away 7-1 after five innings.

The Gators added two more runs in the sixth inning with the Warriors managing one to put the Gators up 9-2 and both teams managed a single run in the seventh inning to end the game with the Gators taking the 10-3 win.

On the mound for the Gators, Lexie Little pitched four innings and posted two strikeouts, two walked batters, two batters to base on hit by pitches, and gave up three hits with one run scored for the win. In relief, pitching three innings, Lee Ann Nobles posted two strikeouts, had five walked batters and two batters to base on hit by pitches, and gave up two hits and two runs scored.

On the mound for the Warriors, Jamie Carpenter posted three strikeouts, had one walked batter and two batters to base on hit by pitches, and gave up 13 hits and 10 runs scored in the loss.

On defense the Gators had one error and the Warriors had six.

At bat for the Gators, Madison Allen was 3-for-4 with two RBI; Taylor Roberts was 2-for-4 with a RBI; Lexie Little was 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBI; Lee Ann Nobles was 2-for-5 with a double and made it to base on an error with a RBI; Allison Wilkerson was 3-for-4; and Morgan Brigman was 1-for-5 making it to base on an error with a RBI.

For the Warriors, Madison King was 2-for-3 making it to base on an error and a walk with a RBI; Sara Bass was 1-for-2 making it to base on a hit by a pitch; Ansley Hamer was 1-for-3 with a stolen base; Jamie Carpenter was 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base; Emilie Martin had two fielder’s choice hits with a RBI and a walk; Sarah Fitzgibbon made it to base on three walks; and Greta Seay, Makinleigh Seals and Samantha Carpenter made it to base on hit by pitches.

The Warriors are scheduled to return to play on Monday, April 21 with a makeup game with Carolina Academy at 5:00 p.m. in Dillon. This game has been re-scheduled several times due to weather.

The Warriors are scheduled to play Marlboro Academy in Dillon on Tuesday, April 22, and will travel to Tatum for a re-match on Thursday, April 24, with game times set for 5 p.m.
