Wild Gators Sweep Creek Bridge in Double Header

Lake View’s Wild Gators swept Creek Bridge in a double header on Friday night in varsity baseball action.

In the first game, Lake View earned a 13-0 win, picking up 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning and three runs in the second to end the game in three innings.

Weston Bailey pitched two innings and faced seven batters for six outs, and Brent Herlong pitched one inning, facing three batters for two outs. Creek Bridge’s Hucks pitched 1.3 innings for the Warriors, facing 20 batters for seven hits, 13 runs, and three walks.

At bat, Carson Rogers went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored; Weston Rogers went 2-for-2 with two runs scored; Toby McDaniel went 1-for-1 with a RBI; Blake Legette went 1-for-1 with a triple and a RBI; Stone Spivey, and Duane Nichols each went 1-for-1 with a RBI and one run scored; Peyton Cox went 1-for-1; and Josh Price, Justin Elliott, Roger Scott, Xavier Johnson, and Luc Newell each scored a run. Lake View had a total of eight hits in the win.

In the second game, Lake View earned a 12-0 win with 10 runs in the first inning and two in the second.

Josh Price pitched two innings for Lake View, facing six batters and striking out five. Carson Rogers pitched one inning, facing five batters and striking out four with one walk. Creek Bridge’s Louis took the loss, pitching 2.6 innings and facing 24 batters for three hits, six walks, 12 runs, and one earned run.

At bat for Lake View, Weston Rogers went 2-for-2 with a triple, a RBI, and one run scored, and Coty Johnson went 1-for-1 with one run scored. Carson Rogers picked up a RBI and scored two runs; Josh Price added two runs; Tyler Davis picked up a RBI; Justin Elliott, Roger Scott, Hunter Stevens, and Jonathan Davis each scored one run.

Lake View improved to 4-1 with the wins. The Wild Gators are scheduled to travel to Johnsonville tonight at 5:30 p.m. and will host Marion on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local team!
