The 11 and 12-year-old Latta All Stars claimed the 2013 state championship on Saturday, December 14, with a 16-10 win over Abbeville at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach.
The Latta All Stars progressed through the district tournament with a 40-0 win over Lake City, a 36-14 win over Darlington, and a 30-6 win over Timmonsville before facing Hartsville for a 12-0 win and the district title.
The All Stars won the lower state title on Saturday, December 7, with a 14-6 win over Barnwell to advance to the state championship.
Latta outscored their opponents 148-36 throughout all six games of tournament play.
