The Latta Vikings fell 80-50 to the Auctioneers in Mullins on Tuesday, December 10, in boys varsity basketball action.
Mullins took an 18-5 lead in the first quarter and and widened the lead by outscoring Latta 20-16 in the second for a 38-21 lead at the half. The Auctioneers went 19-8 in the third, and outscored the Vikings 23-21 in the fourth to seal the win.
Jalek Felton scored a team-high 24 points to lead Mullins and Alex Brown scored 20 points and picked up 10 rebounds in the win. Paul Stackhouse added 10 points; Nizohn Powell, 9; Javarius Smith, 6; Arthur March, 4; Tyrei Platt, 4; Will Ford, 2; and Malik McGill added two points for the Auctioneers.
Latta’s Tyrell Sabb scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Vikings, and Jordan Sims added seven points. Jordan Smith scored four points; Donell Stanley, 3; RJ McClam, 3; M. McGirlie, 2; Quane Williams, 1; B. Parnell, 1; and Kartilus McFadden, 1.
Latta fell to 1-1 for the season so far while Mullins improved to 2-0.
The Vikings will be at home this week to host Mullins on Tuesday and Marion on Thursday. Both games begin at 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local team!
