Latta Seniors Group Knit For Latta Students

A group of very kind, retired ladies from Latta, calling themselves the Latta Senior Citizens  recently donated dozens of handmade knitted toboggan and scarf sets to be given to Latta students in greatest need during the Christmas holidays.
The knitted sets were lovingly made with the most colorful designs to brighten up these children’s lives.
This is just one of the many charitable projects that these generous ladies provide from their hearts with their own personal funds to improve the quality of life of those in need in the Latta area.
The Latta Senior Citizens meet regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until noon at the Latta Arts Center in the former railroad depot, across the street from the Latta Town Hall. They would enjoy anyone dropping by to see their artwork, learn to knit, or just to speak.
The current members of the group include Mary Alice Garner, Annie Lee Spears, Ethel Mae Harrison, Edna McClam, Mae West Cabbagestalk, Mary Alice Morgan, Roceta McKinnon, Hazel Williams, Josephine Crawford, Lula Godfrey, Eleese Temoney, Helen Horne, Joyce Tony, Ida Mae Green, Kathy Crawford, Rose Wilson, Nylon Wade, and Takiyah Abdullah.
