“Gone Fishin.” That’s where Bing and Louis were back in 1951, and it’s where Dillon native and local businessman Thomas Jordan was much more recently.
In early October, Jordan and several friends were honing their skills against some much-sought-after mackerels near Ocean Isle when an unexpected swimmer took the bait. The Red Drum, known to frequent the Atlantic waters from Florida to Massachusetts, weighed in here at 42 pounds.
