The Latta Vikings had a big night on Friday as they earned a 35-32 win over the Blue Jackets in Aynor.
R.J. McClam scored three touchdowns for the Vikings and rushed for 160 yards on 22 carries, but it was a big night for the defense as well as linemen Donell Stanley and Jarred Gomillion each scored on fumble recoveries. Gomillion made a 45-yard return while Stanley went 90-yards to earn the second touchdown of his career.
Stanley and Gomillion also led the defense, with Stanley making 11 tackles – three for loss – and a sack, and Gomillion making seven tackles, including two for loss.
Latta’s Chase Ray went 5-for-5 on extra point kicks for the 35 point finish.
The Vikings improved to 2-2 with the win, while Aynor took their first loss of the season, falling to 3-1.
