Services for Foster Bass Bethea, Jr. will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Latta Baptist Church with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bethea, 57, died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Born in Florence, SC, May 26, 1956, he was the son of Elgiereen Long Bethea and the late Foster Bass Bethea, Sr. He was a Mason, member of the Boy Scouts of America, member of the NRA, President of Carolina Ridge Homeowners Association, and was a member of Latta Baptist Church. He was a 1974 Latta High School graduate, and a 1980 graduate of the University of South Carolina. Foster married Carolyn Patrick on November 27, 1999.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bethea of Myrtle Beach, SC; mother, Elgiereen Bethea of Latta, SC; sister, Tara Bethea Khalil (Nader) of Dillon, SC; nieces, Anna & Lea Foster; brother-in-law, Tom Lawrence; daughters, Wendy Broyles, Christy Haynes (Kevin), and Angelique Whitt (Sgt. Daniel); granddaughters, Kara Christman (Brad), Kelli Haynes, and Milla Whitt; grandsons, Christopher Haynes, Garrett Tipi, Codie Fetter, and Corbin Fetter; great-granddaughters, Tiffany Somlitta, Courtney Haynes, and Kaley Christman; great-grandsons, Chase Christman, Brayden Hamilton, Zachary Hamilton, and Christopher Haynes, Jr.
Mr. Bethea was preceded in death by his father, Foster Bass Bethea, Sr., sister, Penny Bethea Lawrence; and his daughter, Trissie Broyles Fetter.
