Eulalia Sowell Cranford, 88, died at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg, Sunday, June 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Main Street United Methodist Church with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Church.
Mrs. Cranford was born in Chesterfield, SC, November 21, 1924, the daughter of the late David Clarence and Jesse Leland Smith Sowell. She was the widow of Frank Marvin Cranford, Jr. She retired as co-owner of Dixie Carpet Service in Rowland, NC. She enjoyed being a member of the Glove and Trowel Garden Club and the McLeod Hospital Auxiliary. She attended the Marvin Rast Sunday School Class at Main Street United Methodist Church and was involved in many other activities and committees of the Church. Mrs. Cranford enjoyed participating in her children’s activities and was a longtime leader of Girl Scout Troop #25. In addition to her family and her faith, Mrs. Cranford especially enjoyed the company of her friends, travel, reading, and watching sports.
She is survived by her son, Alan N. Cranford (Kelly) of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Jane C. Singh (John) of Elloree, SC; brother, Dr. Broadus F. Sowell (Pat) of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, McKenna A. Cranford and Riley A. Cranford; and her beloved cat Mack. She was predeceased by her son, Mark S. Cranford and brother, Jesse C. Sowell.
