Playoff Update: Latta, Dillon, Lake View All Playing for District Titles

District championship games were scheduled to be played on Wednesday night, but here’s a look at how the baseball and softball brackets looked heading into Wednesday night’s action.

SOFTBALL

Class A

Latta’s Lady Vikings had already secured a spot in the lower state bracket and will host the District VII winner on either Friday or Saturday.

In District VII, East Clarendon defeated Hannah-Pamplico in the first round and shut out Allendale-Fairfax 15-0 on Saturday to advance to the district championship game on Wednesday. Hannah-Pamplico battled back from the loser bracket to advance, eliminating Military Magnet and Allendale-Fairfax along the way.

In District V, Johnsonville defeated Branchville 8-0 to advance to the district title game, and Branchville won the elimination game for another shot at Johnsonville on Wednesday.

In District VI, Carvers Bay was set to resume a game against Cross that had been delayed earlier in the week. The winner will face Green Sea-Floyds for the distrcit title.

In the upper state, Dixie and McBee will square off for the District I title, with Lewisville and Christ Chruch facing off in District III and SSC and Fox Creek will play in District IV. St. Joseph’s will host the winner of the Tamassee-Salem at Lamar game.

Class AA

Dillon’s Lady Wildcats will host the winner of the Timberland at Aynor game on Thursday night at 5:00 p.m. to decide the District VIII title in Class AA softball.

In District VII, Waccamaw will fac the winner of Loris at Andrews for the title, and in District V, Barnwell will host Edisto, while District VI will have Silver Bluff and Bishop England battling for the title.

In the upper state, Crescent and Landrum will play for the District I title, with Chesterfield and Central facing off in District III and Buford hosting Andrew Jackson in District IV. Pendleton will host the winner of the Ninety-Six at Mid-Carolina game in District III.

BASEBALL
Class A

Both Latta and Lake View advanced to their district championship games, with Lake View scheduled to host Branchville in District V and Latta scheduled to host Whale Branch in District VIII.

In District VII, East Clarendon was set to host Green Sea-Floyds on Wednesday and Johnsonville will host the winner of the Carvers Bay at St. John’s game tonight at 6:00 p.m. In the upper state, Lewisville, St. Joseph’s, Lamar, and Fox Creek all advanced to the district title games.

Class AA

The Dillon Wildcats advanced to the District VIII playoffs and will host the winner of the Lake City at Waccamaw game tonight.

In District V, Bishop Engalnd and Silver Bluff were set to play for the title, with Woodland and Barnwell facing off in District VI. Loris will host the winner of the Andrews at Aynor game in District VII.

In the upper state, Andrew Jackson will host Central in District III and Chesterfield will host Cheraw in District IV. Chesnee will host the winner of Abbeville at Mid-Carolina in District I and Ninety-Six will host the winner of the Liberty at Newberry game in District II.
