Thursday, April 11, was the last Junior Varsity Vikings baseball game of the season as Latta traveled to take on the talented Silver Foxes in Lamar.
Latta didn’t waste any time pouncing on Lamar, scoring six runs in the first inning. Lamar battled back in the bottom fo the first, scoring three runs of their own. Both defenses stepped up and prevented the other from scoring for the next four innings.
In the top of the sixth, Latta’s bats woke up, scoring three more runs off five consecutive hits. Latta added one more run in the seventh inning while Lamar added two for the final score of 10-5.
Latta finished the season 10-3 and second in the talented Region 8-A.
“I would like to thank the players, parents, and fans for assisting us on such a wonderful season,” Coach Chris German said. “Words can’t express how grateful I am to have been apart of this season.”
