Lady Wildcats Top State Softball Poll

Dillon’s Lady Wildcats were ranked number one in the state in the latest South Carolina Softball Coaches Association polls.

The Wildcats, who are 13-1 overall and undefeated at 6-0 in Region 8-2A, have consistently ranked in the top five in the state in Class 2A softball. Crescent and Andrew Jackson were second and third, respectively, and Barnwell and Buford were tied for third.

Pendleton, Aynor, and Waccamaw were next, and Abbeville and Mid-Carolina were tied for ninth.
In Class A, Latta and Lake View slipped but remained in the top 10. Lewisville, East Clarendon, Dixie, St. Joseph, and Johnsonville made up the top five.

Lake View was ranked sixth in the state in Class A, while Latta tumbled to 10th. The Wild Gators, who are 1-3 in Region 8-A but 10-4 overall, got their first region win of the season against Latta last Thursday. The Lady Vikings are now 7-7 overall and 3-2 in the region.

Wagener-Salley was ranked seventh, and Fox Creek and Green Sea-Floyds were tied for eighth.
In Class 3A, Hartsville was ranked first, with Seneca, DW Daniel, and Union County following. St. James and Chapin were tied for fifth.

In Class 4A, Mauldin, Carolina Forest, Byrnes, Boiling Springs, and White Knoll made up the top five in the state.
