Lake View’s Wild Gators Defeat Trojans 17-1; Lady Gators Fall to Green Sea

The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the Green Sea-Floyds Trojans 17-1 in five innings on Tuesday, while the Lady Gators fell 4-1 to the Lady Trojans at Green Sea.

In baseball action, the Gators scored two runs in the top of the first for a 2-0 lead,but the Trojans kept them at bay in the second. Lake View broke loose for 10 runs in the third, while the Trojans could only muster one run in the bottom of the inning. The Wild Gators capped the win with five runs in the fifth for the 17-1 final score.

Darius Leonard picked up the win on the mound, pitching four innings for two hits, one run, one earned run, one walk, and six outs.

Austin Faulk took the loss for Green Sea-Floyds, pitching two innings for eight hits, seven runs, six
earned runs, one walk, and one out.

Nate Lewis led the Gators at bat, going 4-for-4. Hunter Walters went 3-for-3; Weston Rogers went 3-for-4, and Eric Munoz went 2-for-3. The Wild Gators had 15 hits and one error in the win.

Shaquille Jordan and Austin Faulk each went 1-for-2 for the Trojans, accounting for both their hits. The Trojans had two errors in the loss.

Lake View remains undefeated at 12-0 overall and 5-0 in Region 8A.

The Wild Gators are set to take on local and regional rival Latta tonight at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are undefeated in Region 8A and both teams have a strong roster of experienced players. Make plans to attend for some great baseball action!

The Lady Wild Gators took a 4-1 loss from Green Sea-Floyds on Tuesday night.

Green Sea-Floyds jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and added one run each in the second and third to lead 4-0 through most of the game. The Lady Gators got their lone run in the top of the sixth.

Morgan Elliott got the win for Green Sea-Floyds with seven outs in seven innings pitched. Kayla Sanderson took the loss on the mound.

At bat, Morgan Herlong went 1-for-2 with a double, Amber Locklear went 1-for-3 with a double, Marissa Tyndall went 1-for-3, and Madison Matthews was 1-for-4 with a double. The Lady Gators had five hits and five errors in the game.

Courtney Faulk went 1-for-3 with a RBI to lead Green Sea-Floyds at bat. Ashley Ham went 1-for-2 and Paige McDaniel went 1-for-3. The Lady Trojans had three hits in the win.

Lake View slips to 9-4 overall and despite success against nonconference opponents, the Lady Gators are now 0-3 in Region 8A. Green Sea-Floyds improves to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the region.

The Lady Gators will also be traveling to Latta tonight to take on the Lady Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Latta is 7-6 overall and 3-1 in the region heading into the game. Make plans to attend to support our local team.
