The 8U Dillon Diamondbacks started the 2013 softball season on Saturday, March 9, with a first place finish in the WFC March One Day Jamboree in Dillon.
The Diamondbacks started at 8:30 on Saturday morning in the five-team tournament with a 14-4 pool game loss to the Dixie Divas. They then beat the CC Red Hotz 9-8 in their other pool game.
The Diamondbacks started bracket play at 1:40 with a 17-3 victory over the CC Red Hotz. Next, they beat the Dixie Divas 12-0 in three innings to advance to the championship game.
In the championship game, the Diamondbacks defeated the Dixie Divas once again 23-15 to go undefeated in bracket play and win their first championship of the year. It also finished up a long day that ended around 8:00 p.m.
