Lake View’s Wild Gators earned a 5-2 win at home against Johnsonville on Friday night to remain undefeated in varsity baseball action.
Lake View’s Weston Rogers earned the win, ptiching six innings for five hits, two runs, two earned runs, one walk, and four outs. Carson Rogers earned the save, pitching one inning with one walk.
Johnsonville’s J. Long took the loss, pitching six innings for seven hits, five runs, five earned runs, four walks, and four outs.
Chris Ford led Lake View at bat, going 2-for-2 with a double, and Nate Lewis went 2-for-3. The Wild Gators had seven hits and one error in the win.
Collin Howle and Hunter Springs each went 2-for-3 for Johnsonville, with Springs hitting a double. The Flashes had five hits and one error in the loss.
Lake View improved to 11-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 8A.
The Wild Gators were scheduled to travel to Green Sea-Floyds on Tuesday and will take on local rival the Latta Vikings on Thursday night. Both teams were undefeated in Region 8A heading into Tuesday night’s games. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
