The Latta Vikings picked up a 12-2 win over Crestwood on Friday in the Latta Preseason Invitational baseball tournament.
Latta scored in the bottom in the bottom of the second and added three runs in the third and five in the fourth to lead 9-0. The Crestwood Knights got two runs on the board in the top of the fifth, but Latta added thre more in the bottom of the inning to seal the win.
Christian Hendrix pitched in all five innings for Latta, giving up just two hits and two walks with 11 outs and one earned run.
John Kever Love led the Vikings at bat, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Latta improved to 2-1 as they prepare for the start of the regular season this week. Their one loss came from West Florence High in tournament action on February 21, where they fell 7-3.
