Berea Baptist Association Honors Rev. Louise Moultrie

The Berea Baptist Association Women District Missionary Convention wanted to recognize Reverend Louise Moultrie for all of her hard work, leadership, dedication, and outstanding service to the Berea Association by creating a scholarship on her behalf.  Rev. Moultrie, member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Latta,  is a trailblazer and inspiration to the Berea Association but especially to the women whom she inspired and showed how to become Christian leaders by the example she lives.
Thus the scholarship was created and named the Reverend Louise Moultrie Scholarship.  Each year the scholarship will be given to a member of the Berea Association who is active in his/her church, a full time student in a technical or four year college or university, a letter of recommendation by the pastor of the church and missionary president, an essay written by the applicant stating “Why I deserve the Reverend Louise Moultrie Scholarship”, along with other qualifications.
This year the Women District Missionary Convention of the Berea Baptist Association awarded the Reverend Louise Moultrie Scholarship to Breana Rachelle Blue, a member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Clio, SC. Currently she is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina-Columbia, SC.  A Public Health major Breana aspires to be a pharmacist.
While attending USC Breana finds time to participate in several organizations:  CAPS (Carolina Association of Pharmacy Students), AAAS (Association of African American Students), MAPP (Minority Assistance Peer Program) and BOND (Brothers of Nubian Descent).
She also works part time as a CNA at Cheraw Convalescent Home. She is the daughter of Selina Harley-Blue of Clio and Eddie Blue of Charlotte, NC.  Members of the Berea Association Women District Missionary Convention and the scholarship recipient visited Reverend Louise Moultrie in the Pines Nursing Home where Breana Blue presented Rev. Moultrie with a token of her appreciation.  Present along with Breana were her mother Selina Harley-Blue, Sis Alfterteen Scott, Sis Nina Bradley and Sis Lillie Lyles.
