Lady Gators Fall 71-23 to Timmonsville

Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators fell 71-23 to Region 7A champ Timmonsville in the first round of Class A Lower State playoffs on Monday night in Timmonsville.

The Lady Whirlwinds took a 22-5 lead in the first quarter and outpaced Lake View 21-4 in the second to carry a 43-9 lead into halftime. Timmonsville went 7-6 over the Lady Gators in the third before outscoring Lake View 21-8 in the fourth to cap the win.

Sade’ Eli scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Lady Whirlwinds with Justice Gee, Arnesha Brown, and Erica Ervin each added 10 points in the win. Shania Wright scored seven, Alaya Wood earned six, and Shatyra Gee and Mikayla Wright each added two points for Timmonsville.

Eli sank two three-pointers in the win and grabbed seven rebounds with seven assists and a steal. Shania Wright picked up eight rebounds and made two blocks; Justice Gee made eight assists with six steals and five rebounds; Ervin grabbed five rebounds with one steal and one assist; and Shatyra Gee picked up four rebounds with two steals.

Olivia McDaniel led Lake View with a team-high 12 points. Jasmine Ford earned four points for the Lady Wild Gators, and Kayla Page scored three with Junetta Strickland and Diayah Williams each contributing two.

Lake View finishes the season with a 5-13 record. Timmonsville improves to 21-3 and will continue to the second round of playoffs tonight when they are scheduled to host Estill. The Lady Whirlwinds were ranked second in the state in Class A girls basketball in the final poll of South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association.
