Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators fell 46-40 to the visiting Johnsonville Flashes on Tuesday night in girls basketball action.
Lake View took a 13-8 lead in the first but Johnsonville used a 9-4 second to tie things at 17 points each at the half. The Lady Flashes returned from the break to outscore Lake View 14-8, giving them a crucial 31-25 lead heading into the fourth, where both teams added 15 points to give Johnsonville the win.
Tranya Ford and Olivia McDaniel each scored 11 points to lead Lake View, with Kayla Sanderson earning six, Junetta Strickland adding five, Diayah Williams scoring three and Kayla Page adding two.
Crystal Williams led Johnsonville with a game-high 22 points. Kayla Ard and McKayla Davis each added six, and Cayley Gunter earning five and Ansley Mace scoring three. Tiffany Smith and Khanyzah Weaver each added two in the win.
Lake View slips to 3-10 overall and 2-5 in Region 8A. Johnsonville improves to 8-9 overall and 6-1 in the region.
Lake View will be on the road to take on Creek Bridge this Friday and will be at Green Sea-Floyds on Tuesday, February 5. On Thursday, the Lady Gators will be back home to host Latta in the regular season finale. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
