Vikings Rally to 48-43 Win Over Creek Bridge

The Latta Vikings took a loss from Green Sea-Floyds on Friday night but bounced back with a win over Creek Bridge at home on Tuesday.

The Vikings were on the road Friday against the Trojans, where they fell 51-28.

But on Tuesday, the Vikings were back home to host the Warriors and pick up a 48-43 win over Creek Bridge.

The Warriors took a 15-12 lead in the first and outscored Latta 13-9 in the second and 13-10 in the third for a 41-31 lead heading into the final quarter. But the Vikings rallied and the Warriors stumbled in the fourth to boost Latta to 17-2 in the quarter, giving the Vikings the win.

Ken’Che Page led the Vikings with a game-high 19 points and Tyrell Sabb added 17 in the win. Brandon Wilson and Ty’Sean Burgess each scored four, and Jordan Smith and Quane’ Williams each added two for the Vikings.

Rashawn Lawrence led Creek Bridge with a team-high 17 points with Devonte Graves and Miles Branham each earning six. Jalen Eaddy scored fie, RaJuan Woodberry added four, Louis Timmons earned three, and Demonte Gause added two points for the Warriors.

Latta improves to 5-11 overall and 4-3 in Region 8A.

On Friday, the Vikings will host Hannah-Pamplico in Latta’s last home game of the regular season. On Tuesday, the Vikings will be at Johnsonville, and on Thursday, February 7, the Vikings will travel to Lake View to take on the Wild Gators in the final game of the regular season for both teams. All three varsity games begin at 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
