Dillon Girls Fall to Mullins 47-26

The Lady Wildcats fell 47-26 to the visiting Mullins Auctioneers on Friday, January 11.

Mullins edged Dillon 7-6 in the first quarter but the Lady Wildcats went 6-3 in the second for a 12-11 lead at the half. But the Lady Auctioneers outscored Dillon 17-10 in the third to take control of the game and sealed the win with a decisive 20-4 fourth quarter.

Brittani McDonald scored a game-high 17 points to lead Mullins in the win with Jaleah Lesane adding 16. Cassie Phillips scored four and Brianna Brantley and Zaakariah Williams added two points each.

Dakerhia Samuel led Dillon with a team-high eight points and Yolanda Campbell and Nakedra Page each added six for the Wildcats. Brianna Lee earned four points, Khamele Manning scored two, and Shymya Sowells added one.

The loss gives the Lady Wildcats a 7-7 overall record with a 1-1 record in Region 8-2A. Mullins improves to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in the region. Both of the Lady Auctioneers’ losses came from Latta’s Lady Vikings.

Dillon will travel to Marion tonight to take on the Lady Swamp Foxes before facing the Vikings again on Wednesday in a non-region match. Make plans to attend Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. to support our local teams!
