The Latta Vikings opened region play Tuesday night with their first regular season victory of the season, a 73-47 win over the Warriors on the road at Creek Bridge.
Creek Bridge got off to an 18-14 lead in the first quarter, but the Vikings shut down the Warriors 24-9 in the second to carry a 38-27 lead into the half. Latta dominated the third and fourth to secure the win, outscoring Creek Bridge 17-7 and 18-13.
Tyrell Sabb scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Vikings, with Ken’Che Page adding 17 and Travise Kinney and Ty’Sean Burgess each adding 12 points in the win.
RaShawn Rogers also earned a game-high 21 points for Creek Bridge, and Demonte Graves added 11 points for the Warriors.
Latta’s record improved to 1-7 overall and the win gives them a 1-0 record in Region 8-A. The Vikings will host Green Sea-Floyds this Friday, January 11, at 6:00 p.m.
