Wildcats Down Vikings 65-32

The Dillon Wildcats earned a 65-32 win over the visiting Latta Vikings on Thursday, December 20.

Dillon took an 18-12 lead in the first and outscored Latta 14-2 in the second to carry a firm 32-14 lead into the half. In the third, the Wildcats outpaced Latta 22-13 and Dillon sealed the win with an 11-5 fourth quarter.

Dillon’s Breon Page scored a game-high 15 points with Julius Saunders adding 13 and Olajuwan Fenton scoring 12. Jalik Bethea earned nine points, Gabriel Salmon scored six, and Anthony Blue added four in the win. Shaqui Cabbagestalk, John Caulder, and Sharif Myers each added two points for the Wildcats.

Tyrell Sabb led the Vikings with a team-high 13 points and Jordan Smith added six. Charles McGill, Ty’Sean Burgess, and Ken’Che Page each added three points, and Justin McClellan and Quane’ Williams each scored two for Latta.

The Wildcats improved to 6-4 while the Vikings are now 0-5 as both teams headed into the holiday break.

In girls’ action, the Lady Vikings defeated Dillon 59-45 to remain undefeated at 5-0. The Lady Wildcats are now 5-4.

Dillon is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, January 8, when they will travel to Aynor to face the Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets were 6-3 headed into the holidays.

Latta will also return to action on January 8 when they are scheduled to travel to face Creek Bridge. The Warriors were also winless heading into the holiday break.
