ROCK HILL – Mrs. Martha Louise Culp Lesslie, 88, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral service will be 3pm on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Neely’s Creek A.R.P. Church with Rev. Heiko Burklin officiating. Burial will be at 2:30pm in the church cemetery.
Born on the Winthrop College Campus in Rock Hill, Mrs. Lesslie was a daughter of the late Leonard Parks Culp and the late Caroline Smith Culp. Louise graduated from Winthrop Training School in 1941 and Winthrop College in 1945. She was an active member of Neely’s Creek A.R.P. Church, treasurer of the Lily Lesslie Circle and president of Preceptor Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Rock Hill. She was the widow of John M. Lesslie, Sr. and was also preceded in death by her sister, Marcia C. McCarty, and three brothers, Joe Burnett Culp, Lt. Col. James Lewis Culp and William Leonard “Bill” Culp, Sr.
Surviving are her sons, John M. Lesslie, Jr. of Rock Hill and Leonard G. Lesslie (Laura) of Irmo, SC; her daughter, Jane Lesslie Culp (Jeff) of Rock Hill; her sister, Helen M. Culp of Rock Hill; and five grandchildren, Amanda Caroline Lesslie and Erin Louise Lesslie of Irmo, Graham Jeffrey Culp, Mary Lesslie Culp and Jonathan Carroll Culp, all of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center.
