Services for Nellie J. Gales will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gales, 79, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, August 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Make Jackson and Ruby Gist Jackson.
Survivors include her daughters, Ann (Clyde, Jr.) Monahan of Dillon, and Cookie Gales of Hamer; sons, William T. (Kathy J.) Gales, III of Dillon, Lee (Peggy P.) Gales, Johnny Gales, and Jimmy Gales, all of Hamer; grandchildren, Tommy (Alicia) Gales, Jr., Kate Monahan, and Tim Wadford; granddaughter-in-law, Bonnie Wadford; great-grandchildren, Leah Gales, Devin Gales, Heather and Dana Wadford; great-great-granddaughter, A’myah McCollum; brother, Archie Jackson of Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Gales was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Gales, Jr.; and her grandson, Roger Wadford.
