Andrew Zack Britt, Jr., 65, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Hamer, SC. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2012 in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Raynham Baptist Church Cemetery in Raynham, NC. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Kannaday Funeral Home.
Mr. Britt was born October 8, 1946 in Lumberton, NC, the son of the late Andrew Zack and Iva Gladys Hayes Britt. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a HVAC Mechanical contractor and owned and operated Britt’s Supply Company, Inc for forty-one years. He attended Dillon High School. He studied HVAC at Onslow Technical College in Jacksonville, NC and Florence Technical College in Florence, SC. He also attended U.S.A.F. Academy, Dallas, TX. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was a Vietnam War veteran. He had twenty-five years of perfect attendance when he was a member of the Dillon Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Proctor Britt, of the home; daughters, Susan Renee Britt of Hamer, SC and Brigitte Britt (Matthew) Huttemeyer of Charleston, SC; sisters, Nell (Jimmy) Bracey of Hamer, SC, Peggy Jo Britt of Dillon, SC, Grace Britt of Hamer, SC; step-mother, Amorite Britt of Hamer, SC, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry T. Britt.
