Marion Clark Morris Jr.

Marion Clark Morris Jr., 84, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Agape Hospice House.  A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012, at Virginia Wingard Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Culp officiating.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church welcome center from 2 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service and at other times at the home. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
Born in Columbia on July 24, 1928, he was the son of the late Marion C. and Marie Singley Morris.  He was a devoted member of Virginia Wingard Memorial UMC, Men’s Bible Class, Daytime Fellowshippers. A graduate of Columbia High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He retired from A & M Corp.  His greatest joys in life were his family and fishing.  Foremost, he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Betty Hayes Morris; children, Stanley Morris (Debbie), Jeannie Abston (Ed) Chris Morris (Debbie), and Michael Morris; six grandchildren, Ryan Morris (Renee), Kevin Morris, Lacey Morris, Kayla Morris, Christie Morris and Kelly Brooks; 3 great-grandchildren, Brock Morris, Madeline Morris, Aiden Froman; brother, Phillip Morris (Carolyn).  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Wallace Morris and William Morris.
