Wildcats, Gators, Vikings All Earn Wins at Jamboree

Lake View hosted the Lake View Jamboree on Thursday, August 9, with teams from around the area competing.

Latta kicked off the evening against Hannah-Pamplico, downing the Red Raiders 19-6. RJ McClam scored on a 68-yard touchdown run, while Ken’che Page and Josh McGirt each caught passes from quarterback Kel Williamson to give the Vikings the win.

Dillon took on Georgetown in game three of the Jamboree. The Wildcats had touchdowns from Breon Page, Jabo Lee, and Pete Ingram and Tara Grimsley hit two of three extra point attempts to put Dillon up 20-0 by the end of the first quarter. Georgetown managed one touchdown in the second for a final score of 20-7.

In the final game of the evening, Lake View faced Lincoln’s 13-man squad for a 19-6 win. Lake View scored in the first quarter but missed the extra point. Then Lake View’s #27 scored on an 18-yard run and #10 kicked in the extra point to put Lake View ahead 13-0. The Wild Gators scored again before the first quarter ended, but missed the extra point to lead 19-0. Lincoln managed to get one touchdown on the board in the second, but missed the extra point for the final score of 19-6.

Also squaring off in the Jamboree were Johnsonville and Mullins. All of our local teams will begin regular season action this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
