According to online postings from Latta Recreation director Ann Jackson, the Latta Dixie Debs softball team advanced to the state tournament in Turbeville over the weekend.
Latta played Florence on Saturday and won 9-1 but fell 4-2 to Georgetown on Sunday. Latta will be playing again on Monday for a chance to stay alive in the double-elimination tournament.
UPDATE: Darlington defeated Latta 9-8 in nine innings on Monday night.
