Mount Calvary Baptist Church held the monthly meeting for Brotherhood, WMU, and BYU on Monday, June 4, 7:00 p.m., at the Fellowship Hall at 405 Mount Calvary Road, Dillon.
After a delicious meal, the groups separated.
The Dillon Church of God Hispanic Ministry Pastor Carlos Juarez was guest speaker for Brotherhood.
Pastor Juarez has been in Dillon for the past 16 years after leaving his native country of Mexico. He is married to Renee and they have three children: Nathan, Maleah, and Brynden. They all live for the Lord. Carlos became a United States citizen in 2011.
The scripture text for the evening was II Chronicles, Chapter 7: 14 and 15.
His topic was “Five Keys to Obtain an Blessing From God.”
This nation, as many other nations in the world, is becoming worldly. We must return to God.
We must: 1. Have a relationship with God. 2. We must humble ourselves before God. 3. We must pray and seek God’s face. (The first time Pastor Carlos heard the true gospel was in Arizona at the age of 16.) 4. Turn from the wicked way. 5. Be obedient to God.
Pastor Carlos encouraged everyone.
