DHS Student Pulls Handgun At School

An 18-year-old student was arrested after she pulled a handgun on another student last Thursday.
Alexant Miracle Harley, 18, 403 W. Calhoun Street, Dillon, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon on school grounds, and disturbing school.
According to an incident report by Sgt. Jeffrey Cook, Harley approached the student who sitting in the cafeteria. The report says the student said that she didn’t have time for her, got up to put her tray away, and Harley approached her and pointed a handgun at her. Another student started pushing the student out of the cafeteria to get her away from Harley, the report said, and Harley started chasing her with the gun. The school resource officer got the suspect in custody.
A $150,000 bond was set on Harley. District Four officials say that more security has been put in place due to the nature of this incident.
The Herald is told that another student is expected to be charged in connection with the incident.
